Has it really been five months since I wrote anything on the blog? In my defense, I did finally get Worth A Try published on Amazon. That place is just like a rugby team. They’ll let anyone that shows up play. I wanted to make sure that everything else was squared away in conjunction with the publication (Do you still even call it that if it’s just a Kindle ebook?). I did a last edit. I put together a cover and a cover for the forthcoming second book in the series: Bigger Balls. I put together an Amazon author page. Yes, that is a photo from Maggotfest. No, the size of the hat is not compensating for other shortcomings. I also did some updating to the web site just in case anyone ever stumbles across it. It sort of looks like I’m a legitimate author now.

So, the book is out on Amazon. It’s free for the Kindle Unlimited folks. You can also click on the Look Inside button on the Amazon listing and read the entire first chapter and some of the second for free as well. But really you should buy a copy, buy three copies, buy so many copies that your credit card company calls you with a fraud warning.

Why the $3.99 price? Books, particularly ebooks, on Amazon are priced anywhere from nothing to way more than $3.99 with first time authors usually coming in at the lower end of that. I thought about going with the tried and true drug dealer marketing plan of giving out the first one for free to get you all hooked, but I decided against it. To me, making the book free is like admitting that it has no value. Does it have $3.99 value? You’ll have to decide that for yourself. The actual number was the result of a quick interwebs search for the average price of a pint of beer in America. You guessed it… $3.99. So, if you see me out and about, and you show me on your phone that you’ve bought a copy of my book the first beer is on me.
