William “Billdo” Dobrosky works for his Uncle Sam, and he gets concerned about what might have happened to his meal ticket when the old man disappears after one of his monthly poker games. He enlists the aid of his teammate from the Brazos River Yacht & Rugby Club, Scott Jackson, who while not quite an investigative journalist does write on occasion for the local newspaper. The two stumble their way through the mystery encountering the rest of the colorful crew of poker playing Coin-op Kings, tuners from Houston’s slabs scene, randy retirement home residents, and plenty or rugby related hilarity.
